Matthew 1:20 (HCSB)
But after he had considered these things, an angel of the lord suddenly appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit.
There are two ways that this could have gone, Joseph could have just brushed it off, and convinced him self that he was just dreaming this because he had been thinking about it, and that his mind was just playing tricks on him. Or, he could have believed that this was a message from God, and that it was true. And I’m glad he chose to believe that, the truth. Could you imagine this happening to you? Your fiancée becomes pregnant, but she is a virgin, at least to your knowledge, because you guys have never done anything. I mean I’m not an Engineer or a math major, but something does not add up in this situation. Chances are I’d freak out! But Joseph didn’t he chose to believe what God was speaking to him. He had faith that Mary was in fact a Virgin, and the Holy Spirit did do this. So I’m taking from this is that we must always have faith in God, and listen to what He says. We must always strive to do what he says, and what his plan is for our lives.
