Matthew 1:21 (HCSB)
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because he will save His people from their sins.
What struck me when I read this was the part where it said, “He will save His people.” His people, not the people. His people. We are His people. Possessive. That’s very comforting to me, to he His. Normally I’d just skim right over this, but it just hit me with what it says. I can tell that God is with me when I’m reading His word. He helps me to understand it and actually get something out of it when I’m reading. Like my brother said below, I’m really getting into this, and looking forward to reading His word. It’s slowly but surely becoming a habit. Also, this verse says from their sins, which tells me that he was sinless. And He came to save us from our sins, because we are his, and he loves us that much!
